What is a Reading?

I’m often asked, “What exactly is a reading?” or “What kind of reading should I choose?”

These are great questions! There are many kinds of intuitive readings, and it can get a little confusing. Here are the types of readings I offer and what you can expect from each one.

General Intuitive Readings

A general intuitive reading is meant to bring clarity, insight, and guidance to what is happening in your life.

During a session, I tune into you and the energy surrounding your situation and I may use Tarot or Oracle cards as tools to help tell the story.

Information may come to me through images, words, feelings, impressions, or simply a sense of knowing. I share what I receive and help you explore how it may relate to your life.

A Word About Tarot

Tarot cards sometimes get a bad reputation, but there’s really no need to be afraid of them.

I’ve studied Tarot for more than 30 years and find its symbolism fascinating. The pictures, colors, numbers, and symbols can tell quite a story.

For example, the Death card usually does NOT mean physical death. It often represents an ending, change, or transformation. The Devil card may point to unhealthy attachments, habits, temptation, or feeling stuck.

In other words, the cards aren’t sitting there plotting your doom. They’re simply another tool for understanding what may be happening in your life!

What Happens During a Reading?

I never know exactly what will come through until we begin.

You are welcome to ask questions, and I may ask you questions along the way for clarification. My readings are not about fortune-telling or predicting every detail of your future. They are about helping you better understand your present situation, your choices, and possible paths forward.

Sometimes you may want a full general reading. Other times, you may have one situation that you would like clarity about. Those focused readings can often be shorter.

I don’t recommend having reading after reading about the same situation. Sometimes you need to give life a little room to unfold! New information, choices, and circumstances need time to develop.

Most importantly, you are always in charge of your own life and your own decisions. A reading offers guidance—not commands.

What About Loved Ones Who Have Passed?

Although I no longer offer traditional human mediumship sessions, I may occasionally become aware of a loved one who has passed during an intuitive reading. If I receive something that feels important and appropriate to share, I will let you know.

I also may receive information or a loving connection from an animal who has passed.

These moments cannot be forced or guaranteed. I believe they should be received as a gift rather than an expectation.

Animal Communication

Animal communication is an intuitive telepathic connection with an animal that allows one to tune in and communicate with an animal.

During a session, I may receive information through feelings, images, words, physical sensations, emotions, or a sense of knowing. Animals can sometimes share surprising information about their personalities, preferences, relationships, routines, and how they experience their world.

And yes, they sometimes have opinions about their humans!

Animal communication can be especially helpful when you want to better understand an animal’s emotions, behavior, comfort, relationships, or changes in their life.

It can also offer loving support for animals nearing the end of life and for families who are facing difficult decisions.

Medical Intuition for Animals

Medical intuition for animals is a more focused type of intuitive session.

I tune into the animal and pay attention to areas that feel different, uncomfortable, tense, sensitive, or out of balance. I may receive impressions about a location in the body, physical sensations, emotions, or other information that may help the animal’s person better understand what the animal seems to be experiencing.

I may also explore whether emotional stress, changes in the home, past experiences, or other factors appear to be connected with what I’m sensing.

Medical intuition is not veterinary medicine. I am not a veterinarian, and I do not diagnose illness, prescribe treatment, or replace veterinary care.

Instead, the information I receive can give you additional observations or questions to discuss with your veterinarian or other qualified animal-care professional.

If I sense something that concerns me, I will always encourage appropriate veterinary care. Our animals deserve both intuition and good medicine. The two can work beautifully side by side.

No Two Readings Are Alike

Every person and every animal is different, so every session is different.

Intuitive readers are also human. No ethical intuitive should promise 100% accuracy. I share the information I receive as clearly and responsibly as I can, but you remain responsible for your own choices and decisions.

My role is to offer clarity, connection, and guidance—not fear, dependency, or predictions carved in stone.

Whether I’m working with a person or an animal, my intention is always to approach the session with compassion, respect, strong ethics, and the highest good of everyone involved.

This work is a calling for me, and I consider it a true honor when someone trusts me—or trusts me with an animal they deeply love.

One Last Thing: Watch Out for Scammers!

Unfortunately, there are scammers in the intuitive world.

Be very cautious if someone contacts you out of nowhere and tells you that you are cursed, surrounded by dark energy, or in danger—and then says you need to pay them to fix it.

That is a giant red flag.

Or, in less spiritual terms: run!

Look for an established practitioner. Read reviews. Ask people you trust for recommendations. Pay attention to how the practitioner talks about their work and whether they respect your choices and boundaries.

A good intuitive practitioner should help you feel more empowered—not frightened, pressured, or dependent on them.

And when in doubt?

Use your common sense…and maybe a little of that intuition, too.

much love,

Leslie Anne Malach
